Toby Groff

President and Chief Executive Officer

Toby Groff joined Norseman Defense Technologies in early 2012 and has over 25 years of experience working with customers throughout the United States Department of Defense, US Intelligence Agencies, and US Civilian Agencies.

For the past seven years, Groff has been the President and Chief Executive Officer for Norseman Defense Technologies where he runs a team focused on providing information technology solutions and products to the US Federal Government. Before joining Norseman, Groff was a Manager with NetApp, a leading data storage company that supplies hardware and software to the Department of Defense. He spent the previous 15 years in various leadership roles at CommVault (providing Data Management solutions) and American Power Conversion (providing physical data center infrastructure for Government facilities), where he finished his APC career as Director of US Public Sector Outside Sales.

Groff has lived in the Washington, DC area for over 25 years and is an alumnus of West Virginia University. He currently resides in Arnold, MD where he lives with his wife of over 20 years and two children.

Chris Geros

Founder and CFO

Chris Geros is the founder of Norseman Defense Technologies and has over 30 years of experience working with customers throughout the United States Department of Defense, US Intelligence Agencies, and US Civilian Agencies.

For the past seven years, Geros has been the Chief Financial Officer for Norseman Defense Technologies where he runs a team focused on providing all of the financial requirements of the company. Geros has lived in the Washington, DC area for over 35 years and is an alumnus of the University of Maryland with a BS in Finance and a minor in Economics. He currently resides in Bethesda, MD where he lives with his wife, of over 30 years, and six children.

Keven Thomas

Vice President – Department of Defense

Keven Thomas joined Norseman Defense Technologies in early 2015 and has over 33 years of experience working with customers throughout the United States Department of Defense, US Intelligence Agencies, and US Civilian Agencies.

Prior to joining Norseman, Keven was a Senior Account Manager with NetApp, a leading data storage company that supplies hardware and software to the Department of Defense. He spent the previous 7 years at American Power Conversion providing physical data center infrastructure solutions to the Department of Defense. Keven began his Federal IT experience at Falcon Microsystems in 1988.

Keven lives in Annapolis, MD with his wife and two children.

Josh Garner

Vice President – US Intelligence

Josh Garner, Vice President – Intelligence Division, lead’s the company’s practice focused on business within the Intelligence Community. He also currently oversees the company’s security posture as the FSO/ITSPO.

Having been at Norseman for over 16 years now, he was initially hired to build business as an Account Executive within FEMA, DISA, and NAVAIR. Finding early success, he was asked to join the Intelligence team in June 2009 to assist in growing that business. Working with new technologies and helping solve real customer business problems has been his goal and path to success.

Josh holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Management) from Towson University. Except for a 7 year move to Colorado after college, Josh was born, and currently resides in Maryland. Josh is married to his wife of 12 years and has 3 children.

Judd Long

Vice President – Civilian Agencies

For over 20 years, Judd Long has been a sales professional providing enterprise IT solutions to the United States Civilian Agencies. He has built his sales career by forging strong partner relationships, securing customer loyalty, and by promoting customer-centric selling strategies.

Mr. Long joined Norseman Defense Technologies in 2018 as Vice President of Civilian Sales. Prior to Norseman, he enjoyed a successful 10-year sales career at Commvault where he finished as Director of U.S. Civilian Sales. He also held various sales and leadership positions at CDW-G and Dell. Mr. Long’s core competencies are enterprise data management, storage & computing, and IT services.

Mr. Long is a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He spent the first 20 years of his career living in Chicago, IL. He currently lives in Bethesda, MD with his wife and two children.

Dave Hoon

Chief Technology Officer

Dave Hoon was named Norseman Defense Technologies’ Chief Technology Officer in March 2021. He has more than 25 years of experience successfully supporting complex technology projects that balance existing technology, budget, sustainment resourcing, and business objectives.

He joined Norseman in March 2015 as an Account Executive and has successfully built many trusted relationships with our Industry and Government Partners. His success is largely due to his unique mix of experience working as a Department of Defense Program Manager, Federal Service Integrator (FSI) consultant, Commercial Telecom Migration Specialist, and State/Local/K-12 network engineer.

George Kapnolas

Chief Information Officer

George Kapnolas joined Norseman Defense Technologies in early 2002 and has nearly 20 years of experience working with customers throughout the United States Federal and Local Governments.

11 years ago, Kapnolas stepped into his role as the Chief Information Officer for Norseman Defense Technologies where he has been responsible for ensuring adherence to numerous ISO industry standardizations, FAR and DFAR regulations, and NIST/ DCMA/ DCAA/CMMC compliances. As CIO, Kapnolas directs the development and execution of advanced information technology solutions, as well as operational business processes and procedures that create platforms for growth and increased profitability for Norseman and its customers by building upon strategic initiatives for the future.

Tommy Melton

Vice President – Engineering

Tommy Melton joined Norseman Defense Technologies (NDT) in 2013 as an IT engineer. He primarily supports pre-sales engineering and became Director of Engineering in 2014. Tommy has over 20 years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting infrastructures across the spectrum, from desktop computers to Wide Area Networks (WAN).

Prior to joining Norseman, Tommy spent five years supporting the Air Force Medical community as a lead engineer with multiple achievements including the implementations of server virtualization, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), Virtual Storage Platforms (VSP), and the Health Services Data Warehouse (HSDW). While at Norseman, Tommy has supported multiple customer initiatives and implemented the Norseman Demo Lab, which showcases vendor technologies, Norseman solutions, and enables customer access to “test drive” them.

Tommy has lived in the Charleston area for twelve years. He currently lives in Summerville SC with his fiancé. He has five children (two adult children and three young girls).

Kevin Kreider

Vice President – Sales Operations

Kevin Kreider joined Norseman Defense Technologies in July of 2014 and brought with him over 20 years of experience in both sales and business operations. During his tenure, Kreider has served as Director of Sales Operations and Inside Sales for Norseman.

In that capacity he manages several teams with a core focus on providing personalized customer service to the Government and broader vendor community.

Prior to joining Norseman, Kreider spent a total of 14 years in the real estate industry, most recently serving as Vice President of Sales for a nationwide mortgage and real estate broker.
Utilizing a calculated growth strategy, Kreider was able expand the company sales territory from within the state of Maryland to nationwide, which resulted in increasing company revenue by 500%.

Kreider was born and raised in the farmlands of northeastern Maryland. He is an alum of Towson University where he graduated with a double major in Marketing and Finance. He now calls the Annapolis area home with his wife and two daughters.

Beth Smith

Corporate Controller

Beth Smith serves as Corporate Controller of Norseman Inc. She joined the Norseman Team in 1999 and has over 20 years of experience in accounting, operations, financial analysis, and audit relations.

Ms. Smith is responsible for company-wide accounting and financial reporting, and oversees corporate finance, treasury, accounts payable, payroll, revenue management, purchasing, human resources, tax and risk management, internal audit, and she plays a role in Norseman’s process creation and operations management.

Before she was named Controller at Norseman, Beth worked in a variety of roles of increasing importance, including Collections Representative, Accounts Payable Clerk, Payroll Clerk, and Bookkeeper. She began her career at Dish Network in the accounting department, where she was responsible for vendor collections, cash application, and cash management. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Accountancy from Strayer University.

Beth grew up in Central New York and has lived in the Washington, DC area for 22 years. She currently resides in Hanover, MD with her husband and four children.
