Eglin AFB is one of the largest Air Force bases in the world, covering 724 square miles of reservation and 97,963 square miles of water ranges in the Gulf of Mexico. Eglin employs more than 8,500 military and approximately 4,500 civilians. Hurlburt Fields consists of approximately 7,000 highly trained military professionals who stand ready to conduct special operations missions at a moment's notice. The wing is the largest Air Force unit assigned to the U.S. Special Operations Command, a command responsible for conducting special operations worldwide. DISA The designated core missions of DISA are communications, joint command and control, defensive information operations, combat support computing, and joint interoperability support. NRL is the corporate research laboratory for the Navy and Marine Corps and conducts a broad program of scientific research, technology and advanced development. Aberdeen Proving Grounds a center for Army materiel testing, laboratory research and military training, the post is a key element in the nation’s defense. USPFO GA mission is to receive, procure, distribute and account for all federal property and funds allocated by National Guard Bureau for the state of Georgia in support of the Army and Air National Guard.
